Handmade Moth Face Insect Jewelry Earrings in Antiqued Copper & Sterling Silver
These moth earrings make the perfect gift for the bug lover in your life. They also make great gifts for science teachers, gardeners, entomologists or entomology students -- anyone who can appreciate the magic of insects!
After preparing the art for this design, I use an acid bath to etch the artwork deep into the copper plates. The copper plates and other earring components are then all prepped and soldered together. The fully assembled earrings are polished, then hand patinated, then polished again to reveal that gorgeous, bright copper glow.
These are made-to-order, so please allow 2-3 weeks for completion.
Moth faces are amazing! Covered in downy hairs with feather-like antennae, they have these extraordinarily long proboscises (drinking-straw-like tongue) that they keep neatly curled up, tucked into their chins. Well, if moths had chins, that's where their proboscises would be, anyway...
All of my jewelry items are shipped in certified eco-friendly and fully recyclable jewelry boxes. And $1 from every sale is donated to protect invertebrates & their habitats.
